News:Oh no! Smart settings is delayed again

I’ve been waiting for this for almost 7 or 8 months. But sadly again they have shifted the release date to the end of February.
This is what they say on the Mobifunsoft site
” Smart Settings for Symbian 3rd edition phones will be released by the end of February 2008.
If you want to test Smart Settings a few weeks before the release date, please sing up as a beta tester and we will send you the next beta version as soon as it is available”.
NB:You can register as a beta tester so you’ll get the app little bit earlier than the official release.
Handy Taskman 2:How handy could it be?

I’m back after a break,Spent the Christmas holiday on a safari n enjoyed it to its extreme, cos we got trapped in a death track, lost in the heavy fog.And I’m happy too,cos we helped to prevent a large scale accident that would have killed more than 150 people on a crowded bus.Luckily everything went correctly and I’m still alive.(Spotted something unexpected too,saw some N95’s on the most rural areas far far away from the city.hmmm how popular these devices are……)
And now lets see whats this buzz about the new update of Handy taskman.Cos on many forums I’ve read that people are not happy about the new release. As they say the reason is that now it shows both “Opened” and “Recently used” applications in the same tab,and also they are mixed up all together.(Image 01).I too was wondering why such a thing came out from a company like epocware who are well concerned about the user friendliness. Then I accidentally discovered the answer for all the hesitations. It’s very simple.Make sure you have the settings as this(Image 02).And now just press the pencil key,and see what happens. It will show only the “Opened” applications indicated by the swirl mark.(Image 03)When you press the pencil key again it will come to the mixed up view(But still you can easily find out whats open since they have the blue swirl mark infront of them like in the fp1).It has just become bit more handy. Then I checked the help for this but surprisingly they haven’t included it in it.Possibly the help was untouched as it appeared on the v1.06. So its obvious that new users get disappointed in their first use.Apart from that Now the version 2 offers the chance to add applications,Speed dial,Speed SMS to favorites tab.(Image 04)This is very useful for power users. So up to some extend you can replace smartphoneware’s Tracker with this.(But I still prefer both)
NB:Don’t know how this works on the phones which doesn’t have a pecil key.If anyone can check pls leave a comment.Or I’ll check it with a 5700 and let you all know tomorrow
Update:Checked it on 5700,But its not working. So Is this function available only for the phones with a pencil key?

Application Review: Mobile signer v1.03(SignSis)

Every s60v3 power user knows that how essential the signing process is when it comes to application installing and for Individual developers. Till now the usual procedure for signing was done by manually editing the auto_signsis.bat, which is pretty frustrating. If we make a spelling mistake then have go through it all again. And most of all we have to have a lap or a PC to do this. That sucks!
Now its all history,With Leftup@OPDA presenting The mobile signer. There were some bugs in the previous beta versions, but now its all fixed.I’ve had this installed on my N80 few days ago but didn’t have much time to get the real use of it.I tried it today and it’s really amazing.
Its Simple and intuitive user interface makes it very easy to do the signing.
Let me go step by step,
1. First of all you must register at Symbiansigned .com and get a certificate for your IMEI number(Do not forget the password that you supply in the developer certificate request
form. And also give some meaningful names for both the *.csr and *.key files.
2. After you get the *.cer file from Symbiansigned .com,Make a folder in your phone memory or the card,Copy the *.key,*.cer and the files you need to sign into that folder.

3. Now open Mobile Signer and give the relevant file links as shown below.

4. Make sure you give the exact password that you gave in the request form.
5. Save the configuration and you are ready to go.
6. Options>sign
7. XYZ.sis>XYZ.sisx-will be saved in the same folder
Advantages:
*No need of a PC
*No need to rename file names(editing auto_signsis.bat)
*Simple User interface(Nice Icon too)
*Need to set the configurations only once.
*Very low memory consumption.
