End of Story : No more Device Trialing

Not because the WOM world guys are mad at me or I did something wrong with a device, but it’s another story of disappointment.I was waiting for my N78 and MD-4 speakers from WOM world to knock on my door, after the long delay at customs. But then I got a call from DHL,not from the person who was handling the package as I expected but from somebody else at their customs office.I was stunned when he said,“Sorry sir we cannot release your package as the Government of Sri Lanka(GOSL) has decided to ban N-Series and E-Series,so the device has to be sent back”,I’ve heard of such a thing few months back in time, but never thought that they will implement such a useless ban.Basically what they have done is prohibiting the import of GPS equipped devices(due to prevailing security threats,as they say)to Sri Lanka and that’s the reason for them to say so.I’ve had enough of arguing with the customs officers about this matter and nope they are not going understand it.The funniest thing is still the hand luggage are not banned.
Unfortunately I lost my chance to have my hands on a FP2 device and probably there won’t be any trials for me in the near future,as most of the WOM World devices have inbuilt GPS.But hope still I can work with WOM world in any other events and I’m willing to do so.So I would like to thank everybody over there at WOM world for allowing me to work with them till today by sending me devices and they are such nice and friendly crew.

GOSL, I support and have my trust on our troops,in this movement against the terrorism,But this decision will not have much effect right at the moment…….

I'm really sad to hear that!

What will the govts. ban next? petrol? because the militants can use them too?

Hyperparanoia is what the govts in this region are going through! Hope the ban gets lifted soon!

I hope it does not affect your ownership of the N95 8GB?
