Nokia, Wake up : EISA awards bring disappointment to Nokia fans

The European Imaging and Sound Association awards(EISA) have shown no love for Nokia this time both in Smartphone and multimedia departments. Nokia the Smartphone Giant with S60 platform, clamming the award for Media Phone of the Year for 3 consecutive years with its Multimedia giants N90, N93 and N95 and with the award category changed to Smartphone of the year, failed to hang on this time as Nokia looses this title to Windows Mobile powered HTC Touch Diamond.

And not only that, the worst news for Nokia lovers is that the Samsung G810 was awarded as the European Photo phone of the year(2008-2009).Actually this is unbelievable with the presence of super imaging devices like N82,but there may be letdowns according to the assessing criteria on the judging panel. They have commented on Samsung G810’s image capabilities like this.

“Is it a phone or is it a camera? Only a few years ago the SGH-G810’s features would have been unimaginable on anything but a high-spec camera. And also it is evident that the looks really does matters with this, “Best of all, it manages to look, at once, both elegant and robust.”

So Nokia, both these awards would have easily come on your way on this time too, not for two devices but for a one single device, the device that bloggers and most the power users were requesting since the release of N95 8GB,the all -in-one power house. A device that is not beyond their current capabilities to build, one device that would satisfy all the high-end technology, the Hybrid of their current top models N95,N95 8GB,N82,( don’t say that it is the 6220 classic) and a little bit of N78 with some E-series flavor would easily recreate the legend and it’s no wonder that such a device will reach the highest stakes. There is no reason for N82 to loose the title of Imagine giant, a recently held Nokia N82 Photo awards over at Nokia Creative is the best example for how powerful its camera is, but if Nokia keeps on Degrading their devices to balance their own market they’ll loose the grip, to another maker for sure. Small things like Camera cover, Screen size, and Build quality really does matters, when it comes to the consumers side.
