One of the most innovative apps that arrived for S60 platform in its 2nd edition and then found its way to the 3rd edition(after keeping the desperate users waiting for almost a year), Smart settings by MobifunSoft is the revolutionary application which makes your S60 experience more towards Windows PC.
After going through a lengthy beta period, version 1.00 was there and it was not bad at all, except the ugly application icon. The developers over at MobiFunSoft might have received plenty of complaints on this issue and I guess that would have been the reason for them to launch an Icon competition in order to meet the maximum user satisfaction, So the result is the version 2.00 and now you can select a desired icon from big list, most of them are too cartoonish though. Also the updated version allows user to change the start menu name into whatever word you like. Both these functions were available on version 1.00 also but with 3rd party modifications, and now they are all integrated into the default application settings, so no more worries on installing untrusted modded versions. So now you have one extra tab called preferences which lists all these additional functions, apart from that, everything else is pretty much the same as they were on v 1.00.
And I found a little bug on the v1.00 and was waiting for an update to fix but the v 2.00 also still having the same issue which sometimes brings the Smart Settings application to the front instead of launching the particular application which we want to launch from the start menu. Have any of you experienced this?
So hope you can give try on the update either by buying it or first trying the 10 days trial from the Mobifun Soft site. But for the FP2 device users still you have to be patient till this September for a new version as S60 3rd edition FP2 devices are not yet supported (Nokia 6210 Navigator, Nokia N78, Nokia 6220 classic, Nokia 5320 XpressMusic).
