Let’s Unite to Fight the Theft

It’s the end another busy fast paced week,in which I missed so many action here on blogosphere,Some very Interesting,Some fresh and amazing,but also some sinister stories.Two Days ago a disappointing post appeared on Pizero’s site revealing an story of an ongoing theft of his themes,the worst side of this is that the person who is doing so is using the Handango online Market place to sell it.This is just like Ebay selling tons of rip-offs of famous brands openly,giving out the clue again that nothing is valued when it gets exposed.But this case is far more crude than the situation for the Rip-Offs,as there is no modification or anything,the thief is just getting the credit for somebody Else’s hard work.Somebody is even selling his free themes on there.

I’ve been using Pizero’s themes for a long time,but honestly I haven’t donated him a penny or anything other than a Comment thanking and appreciating his masterpieces.Not because I’m not willing to do so,It’s just matter of money.But now the the time has come to pay off,not really in the means of money but to help him when he is in need by uniting against the theft.We all know what the role of Italian themers on the s60 platform,there is no argument on that,they have dominated till now and they will do so in the future,we rarely find a match for there flow of creativity from some one outside Italy.I don’t know the exact reason for why many of us cannot resist the Italian flavoures but it’s very clear that they have preserved their uniqueness from the the begging.Pizero,Giambi,LucaP,Babi and p@sco they have created the trends and now many others follow,bringing quality artworks for us.So it’s no wonder that we’ll be bored without them,they’ve made the UI an enthusiastically appealing arena for the users and if they stop doing what they were doing till now,Mhh we’ll have to live with the same old boring stuff.

Now I just make themes, and then I must spend my time checking that my themes are not been sold somewhere, or published without my name etc.

Long time ago, I found people selling my free themes and Babi’s Themes on Ebay.

Another time, I found that an Handango customer, after buying my Premium Themes, was publishing them on a forum.   Just today,  I got an email from a user, telling that somebody was uploading my free themes on a rapidshare-like service, and got payed 15$ for every 1000 download.

I also found, some months ago, a russian site that modified and renamed every sis file, to delete the author’s name and to put a popup with the website address instead.

And another time, I found a chinese website where there was a thememaker making “clones” of my premium themes. Chinese fake premium themes! (this was instead very funny…)

I really don’t understand why people act like this. Making something that is free is great because you have much feedback about users, many traffic, many comments and many downloads. But unfortunately there is also some people that only want to destroy or use your work for their personal purposes. So don’t blame me, if in a remote future (and I hope NEVER!), I will give up making themes, or if my themes will be no longer free.”

So as bloggers and Fans it’s time to Unite against these type of theft and help our beloved theme Maker,we can’t just let him face this all by his own,as we have enjoyed his work now the time has come to make him feel comfortable in such a situation.I don’t have any contacts with Handango,but I’m sure there will be people out there who can give us hand.Also to all my fellow bloggers shall we do something against this?
