The ultimate s60 dual slider, compact stylish, glamourous and it is the ever released largest number of feature clustered Nokia,The N85 is Launching in UK today, that is 31st of October.I had the very first s60 slider the N80,came with a bunch of innovative concepts which evolved in to the their top most sold form factor, the “Dual Slider”.At the tyime of release the N95 was like a dream device,a transformer form factor that amazed both youth and business crowds, thus giving out the boost for a new trend. The personal computing turns out to be simple and more mobile among all the classes of communities, its all about style that brought up by this unique form factor and I can remember when I talked with the N85 Product Manager he told me that the Dual Slider was the most space effective form factor they’ve come across yet.So unlike I hate other device designs been repeated,I tend to lovew this dual Slider form factors evolution.
N95 and its 8gig cousin is bit large to fit into a pocket but the large sized screen has it own advantages that we cannot just put aside. But every success needs some sacrifice,so the N85’s gain over the slight reduction of screen size they have made it into a huge hit by offering so many plus points, like the inclusion of most discussed Camera lens cover,OLED Screen(This what I love most)N78 like keyless faceplate operations. and USB charging.
So this device is somewhat close to a flagship while challenging their real flagship N96 with loads of points. And it attracts more buyers by going in a relatively less price to.The N85 is said to be a massive improvement of its predecessors, and among them a promissing one would be the steady slider mechanism,I had enough of the N80’s N95’s and now the N95 8GB’s wobble while sliding.I know that it aint gonna break the phone but it’s a irritating feeling to live with.
This tiny little slider will be a big hit when it is released in UK,and world around. So today will be a big day to all the S60 fans.people who were blaming about the N-series being bulky will no longer hate it.Instead they will say good bye to non-S60 brands.
For all the UK buyers waiting for this release better to go through this mega review over here.

Pixon to Fix On The Touch Flow

Another “physically typical Samsung” touch device is announced from Samsung and whats the big fuzz about everybody going towards touch devices,is the end of devices with keypads, damn then its gonna be a real bad and disappointing news for me.Since the announcement of Nokia Tube so many touch devices are spawning into the market,or is it just now after the Tube hit,we are aware of it,anyway as I’ve written before on the competitors for the S60 touch devices here comes another one, Samsung Pixon M8800.
Samsung being the second largest s60 OS user(No near Nokia’s Involvement as they them self owned it) Licensed from Nokia seems to be i9n a bit hurry to catch up with the touch trend but missed the go,to hang on to the 5th edition.Innov8 the best ever Samsung S60 ever released geared up a good start for their slow paced s60 approach, but they’ve missed it or intentionally skipped it in another landmark of their mobile device line up.
The Pixon M8800 is following the same design language of their touch predecessors like Dual Sim D980,Omnia,F480,F490,Armani, and F700,an distinct design lock-on which I hate in especially in Samsung and Motorola. It’s very normal for a company to repeat a form factor or an unique design after the initial design attracted so many fans, but personally I don’t like it, this is the point where I gave up samsung and moved onto Nokia.
This latest addition of Samsung is clearly targeting the camera department as it faces the competition with its 8MP camera module, even its pre-market name stands for this,Bresson, named after the famous french photojournalist Henri Cartier-Bresson.The top notch features of this 8MP camera is ,
- video(WVGA@30fps, QVGA@120fps)
- Geo Tagging
- Blink and Smile Detection(A feature I was awaiting to see on mobile device camera modules)
- Shake reduction
So most of all their consideration on taking over the camera department is finally seems to be dominating the market. And the entertainment side is also well catered on the M8800 according to Phones4u.uk
“The touch screen accelerator interface is effortless and responsive, which is a far cry from many handsets on the market. Whilst the 3.2 inch 16 million pixel colour display shows excellent photos, it also supports and runs full HD TV viewing. So regardless of your entertainment demands, the Samsung Pixon M8800 is capable of occupying any preferences with the highest of competences. Films, pictures, games, and music are masterly delivered through a collection of new hardware and software advancements to the Samsung range”
This slim touch device is challenging the dimentions of the other rivals with its super slim 15.5mm thick body. But still I think there is a big downfall with out s60 touch in it as it was presented by a s60 OS using company and especially after their release of INNOV8.
Over at Dialaphone.uk more of its features are available,
“It’s a measure of just how advanced the cameraphone market has become when an 8 megapixel lens doesn’t raise temperatures as much as it would have done six months ago, but Samsung are really going for domination in this section of the market with the INNOV8 also boasting a similar camera but without the enhancements the Pixon branding will bring. The M8800 Pixon will feature autofocus and a flash obviously, but also face/smile/blink detection, panoramic shooting, image stabalisation and shake reduction software, all of which are to be found on ‘proper’ point-and-shoot cameras.
The Pixon’s Assisted GPS feature will not only guide you to your destination but also allow geo-tagging of your pictures, something which will start to become more popular when it’s finally integrated into social networking websites. Even before this time, the geo-tag makes a great addition to pictures taken on a holiday or for work-related situations. Another smart feature is the accelerometer which as well as rotating the screen automatically, works well with the photo album, where a simple tilt of the handset sees the pictures scroll across the screen accordingly.
When we first had a glimpse of the M8800 we knew it as the Bresson, a name which was wisely dropped in favour of the more relevant Pixon, it became clear the phone was not going to be a smartphone but would still feature a touchscreen and the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz operating system. You won’t get Wi-Fi inside the Pixon, but it is a 3G handset with full 7.2Mbps HSDPA support, so it should speed along quite nicely on the right network. Interestingly, the Pixon has Samsung’s SRS Virtual Surround (often found on the company’s television sets) system inside plus DivX support for watching videos and a TV-Out socket for displaying them on a larger screen.”

I’m not a Mobile Phone Gaming Maniac neither PC.The reason is I simply can’t find enough spare time for that, and most of all I hardly find a game that pleases me,to me majority of them are boring repeating the same thing again and again makes me easily fed up.Anyway, this impression didn’t change even after the N-Gage hit the scene, that why nothing related to it appeared here on my blog. But after some time I found one N-Gage game interesting,it’s the Creatures of the Deep,I got addicted to fishing with this, though I never do it in real life. It’s the graphics took my heart, they are so naturally simulating the real thing.Everything is perfectly created to suite the real environment and location, the lens flare of the sun makes me feel I’m right out there.
But I never thought that there was so much of backstage work behind this successful production,Until I came through this post over at Nokia Conversations revealing the real people behind the creation of this marvelous game.Damn there was lot of involvement from so many people and it was a real life experimental research going on for years out there in real locations, its like a Odyssey in search of the game. Its hard to believe but according to the Video game was actually three years in the making and involved over 100 people through the creation, production and marketing process. So checkout this video to find out more about the production and research crew who brought the Creatures Of The Deep.
