Texting is the least used feature in my phone, not because I don’t like it but it’s more cost effective to make call instead, as my call/data plan allows me free outgoing. But sometimes texting is neccessary and may prove to be more emotionally communicative than a call, especially when it comes to a birthday wish or such an occassion.I understand the importance of wishing through an SMS and also know that some words are priceless than just a simple call, but the biggest problem is I hardly remember the dates to do so,even if I use a reminder It won’t make much difference beyond snoozing the alarm. This was a big problem for me,and the funniest thing is I do recall my memory in other times. So I searched for some assistance in forums and blogs. Couple of weeks ago I found the application called “SMS Schedular” from “Aims Migital Technovision“, an Indian made application which allows me to send text messages at predefined times. Messages at the Drafts folder appears in the application window and then we can assign a specific time to send to the reciepient. I used this for few days and found that It is doing a great job.

I found another similar application which is simpler and also integrates with the system. This one is called “SMS Timer” developed by “MobiMonster“. All you have to do is just install the application and at the end of the installation it asks whether to auto-start the application or not. If you select ‘Yes’ the application will run in the background. When you creat a text message and select send, instead of instantly sending the message, the system will prompt you to a window where you have to select either ‘Send Now’ or ‘Shedule’. At this point if you select ‘Send now’, the message will be sent as usual, but if you select ‘Schedule’, then you have to define the date and time to send the message. Then only the SMS Timer application window comes to action, where the list of scheduled messages are displayed. Even if you don’t check the application, it doesn’t matter because the text message will be automatically sent at the time set.
