I am sure everybody has heard of Facebook and probably have an account on it too. Facebook is one of the top social networking websites with more than 140 million active users, each with an average of 100 friends and 13 million which update their status daily. Founded in 2004 and with an Alexa traffic rank of 5. It is definitely an important website in terms of traffic. With such numbers it wouldn’t take a course in quantum physics to know that almost all the handset manufacturers have built in Facebook support in some way or the other. The INQ1 is the first attempt at creating a ‘Facebook phone’. The entire existence of INQ1 revolves around Facebook.
The INQ1 brings about the tightest possible integration of the Facebook account and the phone. If you own this phone and you have a Facebook account, this is probably the best phone for you. The INQ1 merges all the users friends on his/her Facebook account with the phonebook and also merges all the messages from Facebook and other popular email clients with one Inbox in which all the messaging is received. And for example if a friend you have in Facebook is calling the INQ1 phone will display his updated picture in Facebook!

The INQ1 is a unique phone, There is no rival to it within the S60 portfolio of phones allowing such tight integration with social networking sites. The i450 is somewhat of a rival to the INQ1 because it has more or less the same form factor (slider) and is meant for the same target group of customers, the youth. The i450 offers the same ‘Contacts’ experience like the Nokia S60 devices offer, nothing new here. If you like keeping your Facebook personality different from your phone personality, the i450 is a great choice. It offers unlimited entries to be fed within unlimited fields. Also it houses different inboxes for mail and messages.
Both the handsets do not have GPS and WLAN. Which makes them real rivals within the same budget and class. When it comes to music, the INQ1 offers complete support for ‘Last.FM’ and also has a MP3 player application built into it. The i450 is not something that is far behind, it has two mp3 player applications and speakers which are hidden within the dual slider design and also has a unique control mechanism in the form of a ‘Touch wheel key’. The inclusion of a 3.5mm audio jack also signals its musical intentions. The INQ1 accepts Micro SDHC cards upto 4GB, and the Samsung i450 matches it too with support for upto 4GB Micro SDHC cards.
The 3.2MP auto focus camera on the ‘Facebook phone’ put it ahead of the Samsung slider. INQ1 also uploads all your photos to your Facebook account automatically once you choose that option. The lack of flash is weak point for the phone. The Samsung i450 on the other hand is equipped with just a 2MP sensor with single LED flash and fixed focus.
That brings us to the all important question, which of the two phones would you go in for? A S60 based smartphone or a feature phone built around Facebook, the social networking site? This is a tough call, and I probably would go in for both!
since they both are unique devices in terms of what they do. What do you think? Which device is better according to you?
