The last week witnessed some huge bits of news, a precursor to what to expcet at MWC ’09.
Last week saw Samsung announcing an online app store for Samsung produced S60 devices and Windows Mobile devices. This store is expceted to stock commercial as well as freeware applications and games.
Samsung has stated that it will not be charging developers for submitting the applications to the store or for hosting it on their store.
The official announcement is expected at MWC ’09 which will be held at Barcelona, Spain.

DailyMobile.se outed some great photos of a hot new Samsung S60 phone, the i8910 also known as the Acme. The phone is running the latest version of S60 i.e. the 5th edition. This means that the ‘Acme’ will be a touchscreen device just like the 5800 and the soon to be launched N97. Expect more on this at MWC ’09.
Not to be left behind, Nokia has also decided to launch an App store, if Eldar’s report is to be believed. Eldar is the editor of the website www.mobile-review.com. According to him, the store is laready online and running in a closed door mode. A formal announcement is expected at MWC ’09.
