SMS & MMS Diary Review

Texting is an essential part of our mobile life. However , going to the inbox , reading the received message , recollecting the conversation and then hitting reply to get the answer back is a time consuming task. What if there was a solution to see your conversation in a thread with the possibility to see individual conversations separately and even backup the messages ? Today we shall see whether we have that solution here in the terms of SMS & MMS Diary.

The above image displays the basic homescreen which the user encounters when the application is first started. You will notice that the recent SMS / MMS conversations are already placed as threads. This form of threaded messaging allows one to easily go through whatever previous conversation had occurred.

Another nifty feature of the software to sort out SMS conversations by contact name is activated by hitting the right button the D Pad.

The software is touted as being “The Fastest Way to Browse Your SMS” and in our tests , it proved pretty much true.

The software includes kinetic scrolling to jump through messages and is very effective in its implementation.

The second part of the application which comprises the ‘Diary’ is a particularly intuitive way of backing up SMS messages.

The application essentially creates an HTML web page with a list of all messages saved in it , by contact. This diary can subsequently be transferred over to a computer and be viewed or can be opened via the on device browser as well.

We truely believe that this app can be a perfect replacement for the inbuilt SMS application. I personally love the app so much that i have been using it exclusively for the past few months.

One minor niggle which we had with the application was that it is not possible to forward a message from within the application. If that issue is sorted out , it will become the ultimate SMS application on the S60 platform.
